……“If one realizes the Sadguru, he will realize God and vice-versa, as he is the unmanifested form of God on this earth. Therefore, the role of the Sadguru is so magnanimous and universal covering the entire macro and micro dimensions of the universe that no amount of literature produced by the entire human civilization through millions of years of efforts can codify even an infinitesimally small quantity of knowledge about their role.

A few examples from the lives of Saints will perhaps give a better perception.

Take for example, the relationship of Shri Ramakrishna Parmahamsa and Shri Vivekananda. Shri Vivekananda was an English educated rationalist with certain amount of skepticism during his early period of life. Shri Ramakrishna knew about his inner potential and drew him near to him. Shri Ramakrishna had reportedly told Vivekananda that once he (Vivekananda) realized who he really was, he would not remain in his physical body. What Shri Ramakrishna indicated was that Shri Vivekananda was a spiritually advanced soul who had come with a human body for a divine purpose and once the purpose was fulfilled he will realize his original state and quit the body. During the process of his evolution, Shri Vivekananda rendered spiritual help to many persons even when he was not conscious of his own original divine state. He was the ‘charge man’ of Shri Ramakrishna and spread his message all the world over through his famous speech in the World Parliament of Religions in 1893 at Chicago. After Shri Ramakrishna left his mortal body, Shri Vivekananda spread his message all over and set-up institutions to propagate the Vedic knowledge all over the globe. Having fulfilled the purpose of his divine incarnation Shri Vivekananda left his body at an early age just like the Adi Shankara or Christ.

Relating from the history of Shirdi Sai, Shri Upasani Maharaj was drawn by Shri Sai with a purpose. Shri Upasani Maharaj never knew that he was to be the main disciple and ‘charge man’ of Shri Sainath. But Shri Sai announced before everyone at Shirdi that he weighed Shri Upasani Maharaj on one side and the whole world on the other side of the spiritual scale. Such is the love of the Sadguru that he took over the entire responsibility of Upasani Maharaj, inspite of protests from and jealousy of many other devotees who thought that Upasani Baba did not deserve all that attention from Shri Sai Baba. Shri Sai controlled the life of Shri Upasani Maharaj so closely that when the latter wanted to go back to his home, he was forced, under strange circumstances to return to Shirdi within eight days as Sai Baba had predicted. Similarly Sadguru Shri Lokanath Brahmachari of Baridi (now in Bangladesh) had pulled his main disciple Shri Bijay Krishna Goswami by strange methods and evolved him to the state of a Guru in the late 19th Century. Life history of Sufi Saints is full of such instances.

These are only a few examples but the Sadgurus always play the same or similar role with other disciples at various stages of development. These disciples when evolved also play the same or similar roles with their disciples. Thus the Guru lineage goes on and on.

The inner motivation, methods of action of the disciple of the Sadguru cannot be completely understood by anybody else than the Sadguru who has taken over the entire responsibility of such devotees. All other persons including his family members and closest relatives cannot understand the value of this disciple. The world may or may not be able to recognize his inner virtues and may even discard him, but the Sadguru who is the ‘Antar-Sakshi’ (the witness of his inner self), always loves him and stands by him. Gradually this disciple comes to realize the limitations of human love and the illusions of the worldly games and totally surrenders to his Guru - the spring of eternal love. He has no choice; once he is chosen by the Sadguru.

In the ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’, written by Shri Yogananda it is mentioned that the disciple Shri Lahiri Mahashaya and his Guru Shri Mahavatara Baba had striking physical similarities. In some cases even the voice and way of expression of the Sadguru and his close disciple have been found to be similar.

Sadguru, the Pivot of the universe ushers in all major and important events of history like change of rulers, wars, large scale destructions, new discoveries leading human civilization in the path of evolution, spread and sustenance of spiritual energy on earth through temples, churches and other groups carrying on such jobs. Only a few evolved souls can know as to which Master, through what method got wars precipitated, settled peace and opened the door to new fields of knowledge to help mankind.".........

……“ Now Hemad Pant was lucky enough to get a Government job for a short while, and thereafter he acted upon Baba's advice that he should serve Baba. So, he helped greatly in the manage¬ment of Sai Baba’s Sansthan after 1918, between 1920-21. He looked after the accounts and greatly helped in the publication of Sai Lila Masik also. But his most important service was the writing of the first 51 or 52 chapters of the Sai Sat Charitra.

After his death in 1929, the 53rd chapter was added on and the complete book has been published. It is a monument of masterly, sonorous, Marathi verse, picturing Sai Baba’s lilas and setting forth Baba’s utterances and conduct in a way that would always be remembered. So, the effect of the study of Baba’s lilas is the great service Hemad Pant renders. Baba himself said that a study of his lilas would put an end to ignorance and ferry people across samsara.

It would make them get laya in Sai by constantly remembering his lilas, words, and nature, especially his nature as Sarvantaryami. Baba, as he himself declared, is the Soul of all souls. Everything is his form. By constant medi¬tation on Baba's lilas, one can get an experience of Baba in all forms.

Sarva bhutastham Atmanam
Sarva bhutani cha Atmani
Ikshate Yoga Yuktatma
Sarvatra samadarsanah

this means, Seeing God in all creatures and all creatures in God, by steadfast practise of Yoga, the Yogi has equality in viewing all. Numerous others passages of the Gita show how important it is to get a correct view of and feeling towards all creatures proceeding from reverence to sympathy or love and finally to identity with them. The technique to be adopted for achieving these steps is pointed out here; and this is the greatest service that Dabolkar has rendered.

Before closing the chapter, we might well note that the most important contribution is the central truth of Sai Baba’s life and teaching, namely that true religious growth is not based upon the study of the Vedas or mantras or the adoption of any yoga practise or any ritual but the recognition of love as the beginning, middle and end of all religion and that love is best and easiest when directed not to an abstraction or a peripheral idea but to a concrete Guru whom you love and who loves you, and that all other sadhanas are unnecessary. There are other truths Dabolkar gained in his contact with Baba which have been revealed for the benefit of others though they have little importance.

Baba takes charge of his bhaktas even when he does not expressly use the words which he used to Dixit, 'Kaka why have you any cares, all cares are mine'. Baba-said of Dabolkar; 'I serve within his house', that is, Baba agreed to look after the temporal welfare as well as the spiritual welfare of Dabolkar. Dabolkar noted time and again the reality of this protection and guarding influence was not only in his case but also in those of his relations. Having found Baba to be a precious gem or mine, he took his two sons-in-law with him to Baba, one after another, R.R. Samant, and Galwankar as also the rest of his family. ".....

This incident happened way back in 2004 in Bangalore where I was staying with my husband. Unlike my husband, I was then unaware of the silent splendour of Baba. One particular day in the evening, my husband was chatting with his friend about Baba and his supreme deeds. I was silently listening to this and in my heart asked these questions, "Is Baba such a great person?" , "Does He do miracles?", "Is He worthy of so much devotion?" and many more doubts that an atheist would ask about God. The bell rang and I went out to see who it was.

There was a girl standing there with a note book and she said she had come from Sri Sai orphanage and asked me to help the kids with money or material. I was so shaken by the coincidence that my eyes filled with tears. Here I was doubting this immortal person and there He was standing as a girl to answer all my doubts. Why should the girl come on that particular day, that particular time from that particular place?

That opened my heart and mind towards Baba. I still did not have complete faith and as time went by, little things kept adding to my faith towards the supreme soul, Baba and today I know that He exists and blesses anyone who prays to Him with a sincere heart. May He bless all the devotees and instill never ending faith in their hearts! Om Sai, Sri Sai, Jai Jai Sai!

During every circumstance,
He examines your faith (shraddha) and patience (saburi),
Grants your every hope,
Sai, the incarnation of love.

When remembered truly
Sai showers the rain of happiness freely.
He fulfills the need before it is desired,
Displays His presence before He is remembered.
Sai, the incarnation of love.

In times of calamity,
When you shower some drops of tears,
He lifts you out of every difficulty.
Elevates you at every step;
Your footsteps disappear, but His blissful feet leave sacred trace.
Sai, the incarnation of love.

Human relationship

The power of inspiration is mighty. For more than a century a brief quotation has been making the rounds, repeated over and over again in print, and widely spread by word of mouth. No one knows who originally wrote or said it, though it has been variously attributed to many great writers. No one knows when it was said, or how it came to take such firm hold of the world's heart and mind. But take hold it did, impelling untold numbers of people to be kinder and more considerate to their fellow beings. It remains as fresh and vital as ever, a familiar little gem of inspiration:

"I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now."

It is a reminder to all of us that we do not live for ourselves alone, that we must do what we can to help others, to lighten a burden or soften grief, whenever the need arises. The following story is a classic example on helping others:

"Once a kind-hearted man, wise but poor, lived in a tiny hut. One rainy night he had just returned from a hard day's work and was warming himself near the fire on which he had cooked his humble supper. Suddenly there was a knock at the door. A man had lost his way. Could he have shelter? "Come in," the wise man said. "My place is big enough for two."

Then came a second knock. Another stranger had lost his way. Again the wise man said, "Come in," thinking to himself that the two strangers could share his cot and he would sleep on the floor.

A third knock sounded, and he welcomed another refugee from the storm. "Come in. We will squeeze together. We will be warmer that way."

There was a fourth knock. "Come in. We can all stand comfortably in the hut."

A fifth person was welcomed and the hut was crowded indeed. But the wise man was undisturbed. "Let us sing hymns and thank God for our shelter."

But when the sixth knock came, he opened the door to welcome yet another person, ready to make a place by going out himself.

Then all at once the room became larger, aglow with Divine light. The sixth caller was the Lord Himself."

Where there is love, there is always room. Indeed love cannot be constrained by walls.

He who does good to another does good also to himself, not only in the consequence but in the very act. For the consciousness of well-doing is in itself ample reward. In the hustle and bustle of life today, when so few of us take time out to think of others, its good to remember the generous and wise man.

Let Sadguru Sainath Give Us Strength To Do Good Always

• Excellent piece of advice...This, we must take as directive since we do not understand any other polite language...We Hindus take everything casually...We, Saibaba devotes must have prescribed dress code while going inside a Shri Shirdi Saibaba Temple,
• There should not be pushing around while in queue...
• While in queue we must not even ask the person in front to move forward; let him take his time to understand that devotees are waiting behind him...he must realise this...
• We must not discuss while waiting in the queue, even if we have to wait a while, just quietly recite Sainathai namaha...

This is my true story. What you plant is what you reap. I planted unfaithfulness towards my wife, I did breach of trust, I broke confidence, I ruined lives & now I am paying for it. It is only my Baba who is there with me at this time. There is no one else to support me & get my family & life back on track.

Please be careful of your action.
• if you want to do bad for someone try to push it back or ignore it, it will save you in future
• if you want to do good for someone do it right away you never will have time to do it later or not.
Please be careful. He is watching us always.
